Electronic Music Production (EMP)

The Electronic Music Production or EMP is a series of short modules that cover the essentials of Electronic Music Production (EMP), which are ‘Create’, ‘Program’, ‘Arrange’ and ‘Mix’. Classes are set within a creative and interactive learning environment that aims to advance your technical skills and enhance your passion for music.

Certificate in Electronic Music Production (CEMP)

To obtain the Certificate in Electronic Music Production (CEMP), students must complete at least 6 EMP modules within a 1-year timeframe.  Students have the full freedom to customize their own study path based on their background knowledge to accomplish their personal interests or goals. 

  • Entry Requirements

    There are no academic requirements or pre-requisites to participate in this program.  The participants should have basic knowledge of computer operations. Students can use SAE studios for their entire work, project and assignment during the course and 2 weeks after the course has ended. Students also can purchase Ableton Software with their student card and get discount. Detail can be read here

    Full time Class in English is 3 months in duration, 3 hours per lesson, 36 lessons in total. MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY.

DAW (Ableton)

This software program is one of the best platforms for remixing and producing electronic music.  The simplicity of this program optimizes the creativity flow and allows the user to finalize whole songs totally on a laptop computer.  Ableton is best for persons who are more interested in creating electronic music but other music genres are also very welcome.

Song Analysis

This module teaches the knowledge about how music works, introduce basic music composition and encourages students to explore and exchange ideas about the universe of electronic music and analyse one song as a part of assignment. 

Sampling (Sampler)

Explore the technical and artistic world of Sampling – a very influential technique of electronic music production.  In this module, students will learn to obtain and manipulate audio sampling along with composing a piece of music purely from samples.

Audio FX & EQ

Expand your creativity in sound by exploring the world of Audio Effects and Equalization that can take your sound to perfection, or destroy it as you wish with this module.

Synthesis (Synthesizer)

Tighten your sound design skills with Synthesis.  Students will be able to explore different types of software-based digital synthesizers, learn how to choose the right one for a song and also how to tweak them to get the exact sound you want.

Composition

The subject of Composition discusses about organizing sounds into a timeline to create interesting storytelling; hence, creating music.  It also talks about different song forms and other advanced techniques.

Music Finalizing (Finalizing)

Finalizing reveals the secret of mixing and mastering that will maximize the music and its outcome.

Remixing

The concepts of Remixing will be discussed in this module.  Students will learn how to actually remix like a professional.

Vocal Production (Acoustic Recording)

Students will learn all the aspects of vocal production from recording, cleaning, processing to tuning and mixing.

Electronic Dance Music Producer (EDM)

For whom: 

If you love to party because of how music moves people, and you want to start moving people by producing some killer dance track.

Pop/Radio Music Producer

For whom:
From Rock to Jazz to EDM to Acoustic, pop music has no limit, as long as it sounds professional and catchy. This is the right study path if this makes you excited!

Dub Music Producer

For whom:
