"A journey to pursue my dream in music making brought me to SAE, THAILAND.  Even though it is just a 10 months course for Diploma of Audio Engineering , it had given me lots of knowledge and broaden my view on how a music is recorded and made. From theory to practical, professional lecturers guided us on what to do and what not to do. Sharing experience among students and lecturer and along the way with some super fun time in between. This is what I am looking for, an education place, which has a friendly, relaxing and conducive studying environment which give us the student a better place to enhance and plant new knowledge. A great place to be for education for sure. Thanks for the past 10 months of learning and fun.

Kudos to everyone in SAE Bangkok, Thailand."

"I had learnt music theory and musical instruments before hand and for those of you who are worried that you might have to know musical theory or learn an instrument, you don't. The teachers there are very talented at what they do and push you to become creative and to make your own sound. The classes you learn are very clear and they inform you as well become great friends in the process.

SAE Thailand has a very friendly atmosphere and you relate to a lot of people in EMP class as well as every student in the institute, simply because everyone has the drive to create somehow wether it is movies or recording. I will defiantly recommend anyone wether you can't play music or very talented at it, young, old, whatever, if you want to become a better artist and make friends in the process you should definitely check it out. Had loads of fun there."

"This course was very informative, and the instructors were quite helpful. Although, I had never had much experience with making music via the computer, I felt like in just three months, I was confidentl y making music with not only my own creativity, but the technical skills and knowledge I had picked up from this course. I would definitely recommend this course to people with an interest in making their own music. You will have regular class hours in addition to nearly limitless lab hours which will enable to really hone your skills and build a solid foundation for your music. Also, the course is quite affordable and in a great location. The facilities are very modern, new, and clean. If you're even considering the idea of taking this course, don't. Just do it. I guarantee you won't regret it."

"A hotbed of talented musicians and purveyors of knowledge. I took the three month Electronic Music Production course and went from zero to completing a track all on my own. Previously, I had tried to learn Ableton on my own but found myself making little to no progress due to the frustration it can cause from not knowing the functions of essential little buttons which can discourage you from learning. From a technology perspective, the lessons really freed me as the DAW program was no longer a barrier and is now an enabler of creative expression.

Both my teachers, Nannue and Note, were absolutely patient and talented in their own rights. The lessons with them were very relaxed and never rigid. They will keep building upon what was taught previously until the end of the course. Other than just gaining plain technical knowledge, you also sometimes get other insights from them ranging from current news about the music industry to work ethics/working with others on music to managing your own workflow. They also answer any question imaginable about music production. Best of all, as you make your music outside class time, you can get 1-on-1 studio sessions with them if you request it. The best part about spending time with these teachers is seeing how they personally actually make music from ground up. A lot of lessons to be learned from their unique styles.

Lastly, before entering the course, it would be good to know that its greatest strength can work for or against you. Because the course is structured but not rigid and teachers will give you your own space to grow, you will either grow exponentially or remain the same depending on how much discipline you show yourself. Time spent in studio outside class hours is directly correlated to how much you would have progressed by the end of the course. Like in all things, practice makes perfect and as good as this course is, it will not preclude you from that.

In all, an excellent experience and I look forward to seeing if there are any other courses I can take!"

"I consider my 10 months in SAE as a personal success… I got here from Denmark with no expectations at all. I have never visited at film school before… So for me this was a jump into a unknown study environment. What I like about the 10-month course is that we get a taste of every aspect of the film industry. This made me think about my future in all the different aspects of filmmaking. During our course I found myself falling in love with documentary filmmaking. I enjoyed the whole process of filming, planning and the theoretically discussions in the class. I ended up with experiences I will never forget. I have always felt that every teacher has been treating me with respect. I like the calm relationship teachers and students have to each other. People are friendly and will always help. That is something I appreciated a lot."

“I am a student from Switzerland. I decided to attend SAE Bangkok firstly because the school was offering a one year Filmmaking diploma, secondly to be in a big international city where different cultures meet. The course was a perfect introduction to the film world; providing a solid overall course on filmmaking that provides a balance between theory and a significant amount in practice. The majority of what we learnt was in the practical courses, where we would be educated in the process of filmmaking through participation. My experience in SAE Bangkok taught me how to use the equipment, how to be organized during a shooting and to deal with the realities of the present film industry. It also gave me general knowledge about cinema and the essential of proper moviemaking. I believe Bangkok is a city with a growing cinema industry that slowly opens to a bigger variety of film genres and styles with the help of the local rising art scene.”

"SAE gives a great opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge beyond their field of studies. The course provided a mixture of theory and pratical and it wasn't easy. Time management is the key. Thanks to all the teachers and students for their help and support, I truly enjoyed filming with all of you."

"It was a wonderful year: easy going, joyful and instructive. I’ve learned a lot about filmmaking and now understand what I have to face in the future. It’s going to be a long ride, but hopefully a fun one too. I was really surprise on the first day when I saw all my new comrades, we were all so different: different age, nationality, style,... but we all have one thing in common which is our interest in film. With that we became friends pretty quickly. I really had a great time with all of them, and hopefully we’ll keep in touch. When you think of a school you think of: “Oh that boring place where you have to force yourself to go, in order to learn stuff? Yeah…Well… I never felt like that at SAE. Of course we still had to sit through some “long” classes but the classes where interesting because the teachers where always there with us trying to make IT interesting AND funny. What I really appreciate is that they were always honest. An example? Well sometime at the beginning of a class they will say things like “ Ok, today it’s going to be a bit boring class but it’s still an important subject so I will try to make it interesting for you guys”. Moreover, they never hid the fact that the movie industry is difficult and that we will have to face many problems. Overall, the environment is relaxing and the staff are all so kind. Thus, thank you for making my time at SAE memorable."

“I came to SAE Thailand with a desire to fine tune my craft and learn the fundamentals of mixing and audio production. SAE Thailand was fantastic for a few reasons:
1) Awesome state of the art professional equipment to work and learn on.
2) Great knowledgeable teachers challenge you and make you work to earn your marks.
For my diploma I also got to work in a few areas I didn’t know I enjoyed so much, specifically sound design for film.
Another big positive, you’re also situated in the heart of one of the greatest cities on earth, Bangkok!
Since graduation I was confident enough to launch my own company BeatsRoyale (please include my link www.beatsroyale.com) & have already been making great progress
I highly recommend learning here, and am confident that upon graduation you will have an adequate set of skills to conquer the professional landscape.”

I already had experiences with film making, but in SAE I explore new horizons of creative process. I had a chance work with incredible and expensive technology. ARRI lights, DaVinci Resolve Workstation, Adobe Creative Software or huge green screen studio are advantages of this school.

But good technology means nothing , without good teachers. Teachers in SAE Institute Thailand are very helpful, available 24 hours per day and they really enjoy working with their students. They explain everything to us step by step, and I do understand whole film making process. From the script to the final project.

Another great thing is the location. The school is in the new campus, in the heart of Bangkok. And from every classroom, all students can enjoy amazing view on the whole city. Few floors under the school is the biggest shopping mall in Bangkok. SAE Institute is really the most beautiful school, which I've ever seen.

The year in SAE Institute Thailand gave me 3 important things to my life – knowledge, friends and unforgettable memories. I am sure, it was the great place for me, as for creative person and very good investment for the future.

I am currently studying at SAE Singapore to receive my Bachelors’ Degree (Hons) in Digital Film Making. My first year in SAE Thailand has been an incredible experience. With the hands-on way of teaching that is available, I got a chance to really understand how much effort and energy goes into making films. Now, I can watch films and appreciate them for what they were truly made for. I believe that SAE has brought out my true potential and my passion for the art. My experience with SAE is one that I will never forget. All the teachers that were involved became close friends which is the approach that I love. Definitely an unforgettable year.

Misael Tambuwun has made his international debut with The Amarillo Opera and West Texas Symphony Orchestra as a principal piano, celesta, and harpsichord in 2014. Not only trained as a classical and jazz pianist, but he is also a live, sound, and recording engineer in two recital halls, both Northen Mary Moody Recital Hall and Sybil Harrington Fine Arts Hall which located in Texas, USA, and he obtained his audio engineering degree from SAE Institute Bangkok in 2011.

As a student at SAE Institute, he learnt many things that he has not learnt yet, from the principal audio until the acoustic measurements. The outstanding faculties at SAE were willing to help him and never got tired to assist him in order to be a great engineer. Apparently, Mr. Tambuwun is originally come from Indonesia and has a work experience over there with a well-known Warner Brothers under the Music Department as an A&R Executive Assistant. Meanwhile, he was involved on the recording of “Jet Lag” by Simple Plan duet with local artist from Warner.

This season, he got a privilege on having a tour with Oregon Bach Festival at Eugene, Oregon as a chosen composer and spend some his summer time in a summer festival that hold by The Eastman School of Music, New York under the Fulbright Scholarships. Since his career as a composer, pianist, and engineer, the school where he goes to in Texas is going to send him to be a school representative this Fall 2014 to Eastern Europe to spend his both semesters as a composer, pianist, and engineer under four partial scholarships.

"SAE Thailand is the place to be. Choosing to do my Audio Engineering Diploma in SAE Thailand is one of the best decisions I've ever made. The whole experience has taught me so much more than what i had expected to learn. Starting from class lessons to the Masterclasses there has never been a stop to the flow of knowledge from the lecturers and special guest speakers. It was an absolute privilege to be able to have the opportunity to use the studios and the equipments made available to us at SAE Thailand. The environment at SAE is very condusive to learning and growing. It is a very special place where friendships are born and connections are made. If you want to achieve your goals as an Audio Engineer, SAE Thailand is definitely worth looking in to.”

"Studying at SAE Thailand was a very instructive experience for me. You take your first steps as an audio engineer in top notch facilities. The teachers are very down to earth, always willing to help and answer your questions. My class was small which makes the interaction between the students and the teachers very direct. But that’s not all; the international character of SAE added that little bit to my experience. My fellow students were a collection of motivated people from all over the world with different backgrounds and cultures, but all connected by the same passion."

“SAE Institute Bangkok has taught me how to work and develop the overall in film, from basics to advanced. The most important thing to me was to "do it right" from the beginning and besides the theory lessons, the practical lessons perfected it. The most exciting thing about the course's assignments is to be able to create your own story, your own style and imagination in motion pictures, but of course the standards have to be respected, just like in the "real world" film industry. Personally, my skills, potential and motivation in film have rapidly increased through SAE's lessons and I am now hopping into the professional world with confidence, thanks to the great teachers!”

“I wanted to get better understanding on audio engineering and digital film making so that I could create professional recordings and music videos. Now, after having successfully completed both the SAE Audio Engineering and Digital Film Making diplomas, I have to say that both courses topped my expectations, which were set pretty high. SAE provides excellent and structured way of learning professional audio and video. In addition to the great lectures and projects, you will have a chance to ask all and any questions you might have on all the subjects. Also the modern hardware and software further makes sure you get the latest and maximized learning. I warmly recommend SAE Audio Engineering and Digital Film Making courses. I cannot wait for the Bachelor of Arts course to start!”

“After completing my Diploma course in Digital Film Making at SAE Bangkok I´m more than satisfied with the school. The course itself contains a lot of useful and interesting film making theory mixed with developing creative projects such as short films, documentaries, music videos etc. My lecturer Giorgio was a great and devoted teacher, with a big knowledge about everything concerning movie production. I don´t think I had one single question he couldn´t answer, and he took all of our projects very seriously. Always ready with important input. Not too kind, and not too tough. The rest of the staff at SAE Bangkok was great too, and it was a joy coming to school even during the rainy season. SAE Bangkok has a very creative environment and I always felt very inspired when I left the building after a long school day. I think the best thing with SAE Bangkok is that they let the student decide what level they want to produce their projects on. If you are a beginner you might want to handle smaller productions and if you are more ambitious they will help you make your visions come to life. I also made a lot of cooperation with the audio students in my film projects. They are very ambitious and you should absolutely take advantage of having those students so close to you in school. I highly recommend anyone who wants to develop their artistic skills and take their film/audio interest to a higher level to apply for SAE Bangkok -the perfect combination of a creative film school and a smiling city that never sleeps.”

"SAE Bangkok is a place where you first go in to find knowledge for things you are crazy about, however, once done with the learning and the practicing, what you get out of it is above your expectation. Community and society in relation to (and sometimes not in relation to) what you were interested in had expanded slowly bit by bit. And before you even realized, you get to be a part of it already, learning and moving along with what really is going on in real life other than that you learnt in school. If you are into the activities that SAE is offering you and also pay attention to what your colleagues can offer besides what already written in stone, you will get to learn how to go on doing what's right and learning what's wrong on your way of crafting your skills. SAE Bangkok has been trying hard to offer all these opportunities to their students. After all, learning right and playing right is what you can get out of SAE Bangkok and studying at SAE has always been the beginning of the right track into the career I love."

The teachers were approachable and helpful whenever necessary, and the equipment used in practice made the learning experience more entertaining and enjoyable than just reading text books. I met and got to work with a great mix of people, and learned about different cultures I never had heard about before. I definitely won’t forget about the year I studied at SAE BKK"

"About my time at SAE Institute Bangkok, Thailand.... The College was up to my expectations and more. I'm really happy and satisfied during my year at the institute. The work atmosphere is very pleasant and conducive to music, creativity and production. Moreover, the availability of studios and equipment allows us to complete the College’s projects and more personal time alone in the studio. The highlight of education at SAE Bangkok are the lecturers there are highly qualified and each have their own specialties in one or more discipline, which can reach all aspects of music, technique, artistic, industry practice and business. They are also real professional engineers that are willing to share their experience in the field, recording studios, live concert, post production to us. I’m so glad to have studied at SAE Institute Bangkok."

It is my first experience to study in this course “Audio Engineering”, and it’s in SAE Bangkok. Although I never use those gears and doing recording before, the teachers have the passion to teach no matter what, they not only want you to get graduate but make sure you understand what they are teaching.
While practicing in the studio, sometime they will just walk-in and check out what is going on, and give some ideas and skills. That’s kind of cool teachers, thumbs up! I have my enjoyable learning time in SAE Bangkok! Thanks to the teachers and good luck!

SAE Bangkok is a good starting platform for a shot at the recording and media industry. From here you really could end up anywhere and it's your choice. In the dynamic world of the recording and media industry, having the foundation knowledge of audio engineering is a must and those without will get lost so I definitely recommend this course. I decided to start here and then go from there and it's landed me in one of the biggest events firms in the world, helping organize the London Olympics in 2012. The nine months in SAE gave me the technical knowledge involved in my work which made me a more valuable asset to employers. It's a great course overall and in nine months, you could be working on albums, films, live events, marketing, promotions and anything really!

Audio Engineering – SAE Thailand

Always being interested in video and sound, I found myself working in music productions, radio broadcasts and live music entertainment as a performer and a sound technician. Getting more involved in it, I decided I needed a focused study on the matter to perfect my technical skills.
I graduated as an international student from the 2010 Audio Engineering Diploma class at SAE Bangkok. If you have a passion for sound, video and arts, then i would say you are looking in the right direction.

SAE granted me a complete training both theoretical and practical using excellent educational methods in a logic and progressive path. In class as well as in the studios, one is always stimulated by notions and creative tasks that allows you to develop the technical skills and necessary attitude to access and use all the industry standard equipment, software and devices, along with the unique mixing desks and outboard gear present in the school's facilities, learning professional techniques and advanced methods of work that really makes the difference.
Together with the help and the advice from great individuals, such as the well experienced lecturers and all of the people at SAE Bangkok. They always taking care of the students by every mean, you'll be guided throughout all the course phases, and if a serious effort is put on practising accordingly to what has been thought, you could see yourself achieving daily improvements and results in your works. Be prepared because the course is a serious deal, but if you got a passion and you are seriously committed, you will succeed.

Of course SAE Thailand is a multidisciplinary educational environment, so I had the chance to meet a lot of interesting people from all over the world, starting relationship and creating networks and often ending up with collaborations that lasts.

Along with the lecturers I also met and talk with external experts working in the industry, which names could be easily found in major movie credits or awards winners music production, and they passed me exclusive golden tips I'm making treasure of.
As I found previous and after the course, SAE is a well recognized school in the industry, and every serious one working in the music business know and respect the name.

Fact is, the Audio Engineering course really raised my technical skills as well as my knowledge of sound, equipment and music production, giving me a lot more confidence and results in what I love to do.
